Halifax Hustle Win Finck Cup - 2022 NSSLL Champions

The Halifax Hustle claimed the 2022 Fink Cup, their first NSSLL championship since 2015, with a 14-8 game 4 win over the Fighting Orangutans. The Hustle won the series 3-1 over the 2019 NSSLL Champions.

In the first ever "best-of-5" final in NSSLL history, the Hustle came to play in game #4.  With a chance to close out the series and claim the Fink Cup, the Hustle responded. Team veteran Ian McShane scored the first 4 goals for the Hustle, including a natural hattrick in the 1st period.

Down 2-1 with 9 minutes left in the 1st period the Hustle webt on a 6 goal run over a span of 10 minutes to take a 7-2 lead.  The Orangutans tried to claw back into the game, and midway through the 2nd period it was just 8-6 for the Hustle, but another 5 goal run for Halifax put the game out of reach.

Zac Carrigan with a 6 goal performance (including 5 in the 2nd period) capped of a stellar playoff run, winning the playoff scoring title with 38 pts and playoff goal scoring title with 26 goals, 14 more than 2nd place Ian McShane.

In addition to Carrigan's 6 goals and McShanes 4 goals Jon magarveu had 2 goals and Jonah Glazebrook (1G 6A) and Connor Aquanno also scored for the Hustle. Chris Soucie was rock solid in the net's once again.

Bryce Mayea (4G 1A) and Drew MacDonald (3G 1A) lead the way for the Orangutans. Mitch Broussard (1G 5A) scored the other goal.

This marks the end of the most successfull season in NSSLL history.  The league will be back in the spring of 2023 with even more action and excitment.
